For me, the main criteria is that my schedule is FREE of outside demands, appointments, or travels. I can RELAX when I know I don't have to be anywhere at any certain time that day... and I can play CD's, bake stuff, putter around the house making a little progress on tasks that have been stressing me out, take a nap if I feel like it, daydream, make lists...
1. Spending unscheduled time with family and friends - a.k.a. hanging out at my aunt and uncle's pool, lounging around Ryan's dad's pond, around a campfire with friends.
2. Turning on folk music or hymns when my house is completely clean and laying on the couch and reading a book or journaling.

#1 - Underneath a blanket with a book.
#2 - Sitting on my favorite porch in the Grove.
#1. In bed. With a book. Preferably with it raining outside.
#2. Drinking a glass of wine on the patio with C.
Note: Both of those relaxation preferences of course include the disclaimer that it is necessary that I don't hear a baby crying.
